2015 Terroir Syrah

The Wine

The 2015 Syrah opens with cherry, strawberry, berry, grape, gamey, black pepper, anise, and spice on the nose with touches of vanilla and cream. Rich and dense with flavors of fresh, fruity strawberry, dark chocolate, toasted oak, and cracked black pepper, this wine is rich and dense with a gamey edge. Pair with salmon, pork medallions, creamy pasta, or hearty soups.

Vintage and Vineyards

2015 was another very warm year with an early spring. The warm conditions led to the grapes fully ripening and developing the excellent varietal flavors we know and expect from this region. The grapes were harvested exclusively from Snipes Mountain. This Snipes Mountain Syrah continues to be a great wine from the Terroir series displaying full, rich, and dense fruit with a gamey edge.

Winemaking

The grapes were harvested during the day to take advantage of the sun’s heat for warm, effective macerations. The grapes were destemmed, crushed, and fermented in tanks. The wine rested for 20 months in a mixture of old and new American
