R.H. Phillips-Hogue Privacy Policy

We respect and strive to protect the privacy of all R.H. Phillips-Hogue customers and email/eNewsletter subscribers.

The information we request from customers and/or email subscribers is that which is necessary to conduct business with and/or communicate with the same. In this, we collect data in whole or part about our customer?s name, date of birth, billing and shipping addresses, telephone, email address and credit card information. This data informs us that the customer has represented himself/herself as being legally old enough to purchase wine and it also provides us with the information we need to identify the customer, communicate with him/her and ship the products that he or she orders. This practice is applied universally to every customer and/or subscriber.

Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. This can be verified by looking for a closed lock icon at the bottom of your web browser, or looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the web page.

While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect customer information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are also kept in a secure environment.

Individual customers may edit their information at any time by (1) logging on to our online store, http://www.rhphillips.com/wine/main.html, (2) identifying that he/she is a customer (Click on ?My Account?, identify yourself by entering your email address and password), (3) clicking on ?Edit? and then (4) making any necessary changes to their personal information (Customers may also phone Bob Barker, 530-662-3215, ext. 112, to request these changes).

The personal information provided by our customers or by those who have requested to be added to our email or eNewsletter list is solely the property of R.H. Phillips-Hogue and this is never given, sold or otherwise transmitted to a third party. If at any time the customer or subscriber no longer wants to be included in communications from R.H. Phillips-Hogue, electronic or otherwise, please notify R.H. Phillips-Hogue by mail, phone or email and we will promptly honor this request.

Please note that all customers will be notified by email of changes to this policy that might affect one?s privacy, using the individual customer email addresses that R.H. Phillips-Hogue has on file in our customer database. For this reason, customers are advised to keep our files current by editing their customer profile or advising us of email address changes. This policy is effective, July 21, 2004.
